Shauna Jarrett leads the SJ Governance team in providing strategic advice and legal services for modernising governance frameworks and practices and procedures especially for the For-purpose sector, tertiary institutions and government entities.    

 

Agility in the field allows us to work with for-purpose organisations, monitoring their structures and keeping clients sustainable and relevant. We also provide a suite of legal services for commercial, property and private clients including Estate and Succession matters.

Credentials and experience

Shauna Jarrett BA (Hons), LLB, FGIA
Principal

For 25 years, as a solicitor  at  rural and CBD firms  tertiary institutions  and as Principal of her own firms, Shauna has worked in promoting and implementing governance reforms as a platform for organisational integrity, stability and growth.

 

Working as a Senior Executive and Non-Executive Director, plus time in legal practice, Shauna has  developed a deep understanding of current legal, political and commercial organisational needs and implementation. She also advises on generational change, streamlining large businesses and growing the small to the next stage.

Shauna’s experience includes being a service provider and team member through to leadership and Board positions in a range of entities and community groups.

Seton Villa – Daughters of Charity of St Vincent De Paul providing residential homes for women with intellectual challenges.

Waves and the Spectrum P/L providing Surfing and sporting experiences for children on the spectrum

  • Vice President and Councillor of the Law Society of NSW, Chair and Member of Workplace policy Committees and the Human Rights committee

  • Chair of the Public Interest Advocacy Centre (the largest community legal centre in NSW)

  • Non-executive Director of Lawcover Pty Ltd, Arts Law Centre of Australia & Creating Australia Ltd.

The Hon Greg Pearce, BA, LLB

Senior Consultant

A successful career as a commercial lawyer, including 17 years as a partner in a major international law firm, led Greg to become a senior member of NSW Parliament, including serving as the NSW Minister for Finance and Services.

 

Greg has experience advising Government and the private sector on a broad range of strategy and projects including:

  • Strategic advice for NSW Government agencies ranging from payroll tax, mining charges for mine rehabilitation and he recently Chaired a Panel reviewing the NSW Government Sector Employment legislation.  

  • Property and Infrastructure including East Circular Quay Bennelong Project, Federal Government Parramatta Precinct, M2, Sydney Water projects, Federal Airport Sales and State Rail debt for equity swap.

  • Providing leadership and strategic advice to a major international technology company.

  • Establishing a new point to point transport option.

  • Providing budgeting and financial advice for a significant cultural institution.

Greg has an unmatched range of corporate expertise and experience across government, commerce and business.

Greg has served on a range of boards and entities including Federal Government property companies, the Law Society of New South Wales, was part of the Australian Government’s Delegation to the United Nations Earth Summit and the Advisory Board of Clean Up Australia.

Eliza Gilbank-Heim

Paralegal 

As a fourth year Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws student at Macquarie University, Eliza joined our firm in September 2020. With a keen interest in the areas of corporate governance, policy, and succession and estate law, Eliza has seamlessly slotted into her role as Paralegal to both Shauna and Greg.

 

These include strategy, branding, e-commerce, digital communications, channel and pipeline management. Coupled with extensive experience in supply chain management, her experience can lead in these areas:

 

​Eliza has assisted in research and drafting and has shadowed Shauna in providing organisational and strategic advice to companies such as the Girl Guides NSW & ACT and Waves and the Spectrum P/L. Most recently, Eliza has served as Shauna’s assistant in administering a Grant of Probate. Eliza also acted as Greg’s assistant during his time as Chair of the Review Board for the NSW Government Sector Employment legislation.
